IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR

The first day of school is Monday, August 6.

The ECEC will not be in session the week of July 30 (through August 3). Please make alternative plans for your child care needs.

In order for your child to begin school on August 6:

  • Parents/Guardians are required to meet with their Family Advocate to submit all enrollment paperwork, including the Emergency Card, by July 20.
  • Parents/Guardians are required to meet with their child’s teacher by July 27.
  • Missed deadlines will result in delayed school entry. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Need bus service? Contact Melinda Hansen at (480) 362-2206. Bus service is available for preschoolers only.

Starting August 6, the ECEC school hours are:

  • Infants/Toddlers: 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
Child Care services from 1:30-6 p.m.
  • Preschoolers: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
    Child Care services from 7-8:30 a.m. and 1:30-6 p.m.

Students arriving after 9 a.m. will be considered a late arrival (no exceptions, including medical or other appointments). If your child needs a health check, please plan to arrive at the ECEC health office 10-15 minutes early.

  • 17 late arrivals = 1-day suspension
  • 18 late arrivals = withdrawal from the ECEC

Late pickup fees will be assessed at $1 per minute past 6 p.m. (no grace period). The late fee also applies to children in protective care.

  • 6 late pickups = 1-day suspension
  • 7 late pickups = withdrawal

Family Handbooks are available here. Paper copies are available upon request. Please call the ECEC at 480-362-2200 with questions.
